The idea to start a magazine came about at the turn of 2011/2012 while sipping green tea. The first issue of the magazine was launched on November 7, 2012 in the Jericho café. Beer and wine are also part of the Central European tradition. Neither the members of the association nor the authors of the magazine avoid these beverages.
We are a registered association that is independent. In practice, this means that we all do everything for free, just because we enjoy it and it makes sense to us. Since May 21, 2012, we have been registered with the Ministry of the Interior (IČO 22612645). We operate throughout the Czech Republic. The association’s registered office is at Jirečkova 1012/9, Prague 7, Holešovice, 170 00.
The purpose of the association is to publish a quarterly magazine, Demokratický střed, which focuses on Central Europe. We are not opposed to anything that stirs up the events surrounding the topic of Central and Eastern Europe. We also want to find partners across Central Europe. We will be happy to cooperate with related magazines, think tanks and in general with anyone who is interested.
The magazine Demokratický střed is registered with the Ministry of Culture (MK ČR E 20906) and has ISSN 1805-6202. We are published four times a year.
There were only a few seconds left until the Democratic Center was baptized. It happened on November 7, 2012 in Jericho, Prague. The baptism had nothing to do with the VŘSR.
The civic association is led by:
Tomáš Fošum – chairman of the association
Petr Zenkner – secretary of the association
Tomáš Chlum – technical director of the association
The editorial board of the magazine consists of Tomáš Fošum, Petr Zenkner, Tomáš Chlum, Tomáš Orlík, Marie Jüptner Medková, Jan Blažek, Jan Holovský, Jan Jüptner, Pavel Cechl and Anna Plasová.
